Sender's Comments:
I live
in Peshawbestown Michigan on the reservation. Our land
is deep in traditions of our people. The land our homes
are on is land that our people had lived on and died
on for many years. There have been graves found in the
yards of many homes since this was the way to bury your
loved ones, there was no cemetery. I got up early one
morning around 6am, I decided to go out in the back
yard and snap some pictures of the frame of the sweat
lodge we have and when I put the pictures on the computer
I saw this one with the very distinct faces in it.
We
believe the spirits in the photo were here to see the
lodge and to protect us. There have been many sightings
in this area. I hope to be capturing more of them. On
New Year's Eve my husband took the video camera outside
and filmed some when we got back in the house and watched
the film we were surprised to see more spirits walking
through our front yard. This is a very interesting place
to be.
Craig's Verdict:
Initially I commented here
that this was probably nonsense as the Indians were
a nomadic people did not have graveyards. But I stand corrected.
The sender
was good enough to provide further detail
writing: "Our spirits are everywhere here on
this reservation, since our own relations have been
buried on this land, which is not a graveyard. Within
the native community, many years ago, they buried
their relatives in the yards of their homes.
We now
have cemeteries and you can experience the same things
there as you do in the yards of some of these homes."
Elsewhere in her email the sender says: "We as
native Americans are deep into our traditions and
culture. I have shown this photograph to many spiritual
leaders of other tribes and they all say the same
thing that the spirits we photographed are the 'real
thing'.
It would be particularity interesting to see the
video clips and hopefully the sender will supply some
more photos in due course. |
